Responsible for the development, implementation, and management for all safety-related aspects for a 365,000 sq. ft. bakery facility with a workforce of 300 employees and seasonal workers.

·   Directs Workers' Compensation activity maximizing cooperation between the Plant Medical Department, insurance carrier, and medical providers.  Supervises Medical Department to ensure compliance with Corporate and regulatory standards.

·   Conducts and/or coordinates plant health and safety training in order to reduce injuries and comply with Corporate and regulatory standards.

·   Provides guidance to operating departments and work teams in implementing safety initiatives and projects; performs follow-up activities to ensure completion of open action items resulting from safety work orders, safety committee activity, and employee suggestions.

·   Analyzes statistics to identify injury causes and supports facility efforts to prevent/reduce injuries based on trends.

  •                   Developed Bloomfield’s first self-directed, cross-functional safety teams using HPO strategies.

·   Member of Global Safety Audit Team responsible for LOTO, Ergonomics, and Medical Sections.

  •                   Managed OSHA compliance for the medical facility at the Richmond plant.

·   Engineered a laminator platform significantly decreasing the risk in the mixing operation.

·   Procured six WAVe lifts, reducing the need for ladders by 90%.
